From: Canada Family Action Coalition [mailto:info@familyaction.org] Subject: CFAC Action Update - June 28/07 CFAC Action Update, June 28, 2007 On June 19, 700 pedophiles from around the world were arrested in a major operation. Sickening sex images of children being raped and abused were found on computers, sites and tapes. Twenty-four of the perverts were from Canada. The arrests prove that this group of child sex predators are organized and their tool is the internet. Therefore CFAC wants to step up our campaign to call upon internet providers to take actions against such organization. Blocking spam and hate sites is possible. So is blocking child sex sites. CFAC wants to increase our lobby of the federal government to bring into force legislation covering CRTC actions on internet regulation, to assist law enforcement in gathering information on these criminals, and to increase court sentences for child sex offenders in order to better protect society, especially vulnerable children. Even the age of protection legislation that parliament passed is being held up at the Senate now. This action by the unelected Senators is unacceptable. Senators need to hear from Canadians that they are in essence aiding crimes against children by not passing this law. Senator contact formation is here. CFAC called upon people to sign a petition for ISPs. I am disappointed that many people did not take the time to sign it. We need to have greater support so we can move forward to effect the changes necessary.
