How Much Can Your Church Scavenge?

During the spring cleaning season, have people in your church set aside any of the above items that are in new or good used condition. Or go looking at local garage sales for gently-used items. Many people, when you tell them you are looking for Birthright donations, will give you their baby things free!

Then, on the morning of Saturday, June 18th, ...FILL YOUR VEHICLE!!! with all the treasures for Birthright.

11:00 a.m. - Weigh In...arrive at the church site and have your donation weighed in.
Note: cash/cheque counts $1 = 1 pound.
11:30 a.m. - Baby Shower/Barbecue for all in our Community:
12:30 p.m. - Message from Birthright
1:15 p.m. - Plaque - presented to the church that brings in the most weight/donations in total.

Birthright

baby with blocksBirthright is a pro-life crisis pregnancy counselling service providing pre & post-natal support for women and their babies. They do far more than simply counsel. Birthright assists young women (often teens) in rationally considering the pro-life options of their crisis pregnancy, encourages them to talk with their parents, and even accompanies them to talk with their parents when requested. They also partner with expectant mothers for doctors appointments and pre-natal classes as well as assisting them with post-natal supplies.

Each year 2002, approximately 250 - 300 babies are born and mothers supported as a result of their work. This special community organization is in need of: baby clothes, diapers, baby toiletries (shampoo, soaps, etc.), baby bottles, formula, maternity clothes, and financial contributions. (Please no furnishings, car seats, strollers or toys.)

Birthright depends on the community to provide the many supplies which, in turn, are used to assist mothers and mothers-to-be. The annual Scavenger Hunt annually raises over 50% of Birthright's annual clothing needs and this all comes in one morning. Last year, 511 pounds of clothing were received at the Scavenger Hunt, as well as $1,622 in cash. This year, HWFAC has set a goal of 1,000 pounds of clothing, and $1,500 in cash. Please read the ad below and then call and register your church or agency for the 8th Annual Scavenger Hunt for Birthright. Come, experience the joy of giving to the pro-life community.
