Municipal Elections - Mayor, Councillors and Trustees - Monday, November 10, 2003

The HWFAC have spoken with and fully support the following candidates running for Public School Board Trustee in the following ridings:

Ward 3 - Eleanor Johnstone;
Ward 7 - Alex Colic;
Wards 9 & 10 - John Davidson;
Wards 11 & 12 - Jim Enos

For more information on who is running, and which Ward you reside in, please go to the City of Hamilton website. A good question you may pose to your candidates would be the following:

Do you support programs of choice within public education? (Choice being programs with an emphasis on subject (eg. music, art, science), teaching style (eg. Montessori, traditional), language, and culture (eg. Native, Christian, Muslim, etc.))

Innovative Programming will better enable schools to connect the learning in the classroom to the life experiences and cultural and value understandings of the child. One size does not fit all, nor is taking the ‘middle of the road' approach effective in this pluralistic and diverse society.
