The Sexual Health Network, a committee of the City of Hamilton Public Health Services, is assisting parents in fulfilling their important role of teaching their children about sexual health by offering educational workshops for parents around sexuality. Professor Garfield Gini-Newman will be guest speaker on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Michelangelo's Banquet Centre, 1555 Upper Ottawa Street, Hamilton. The evening conference will offer parents an opportunity to receive factual information about sexually transmitted infections and some practical tips on how to engage your children in discussions about sex and sexuality. Available for participating parents is a free, attractive travel coffee mug, and for students who wish to make a commitment to abstinence there are bracelets, pens and water bottles, all stating, "I'm Worth the Wait." All parents and guardians, from both the Catholic and public school boards and the community as a whole, are welcome to attend. Sexuality is not a topic to ignore when it comes to educating our children. Take the time to talk to yours and share your thoughts and feelings on this most important subject.
