Hamilton-Wentworth Family Action Council to Make Public Presentation to School Board Monday May 12th/08 at 7:00 p.m.
HWFAC continues to fight against the acceptance of the Sexual Orientation Strand of the Equity Policy and have recently been granted delegate status to present to the Committee of the Whole. Originally it was to have taken place in January but has since been postponed 3 times which allows us more time to pray and to call and to speak up.

This meeting will take place at the school board building on Main Street West across from City Hall and may now take place on Monday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m.

We are requesting that as many concerned parents and taxpayers as possible attend this presentation as we present our concerns with various aspects of the Policy.

An effective means of identifying yourself as a supporter of HWFAC is to bring a flashlight and a large Bible. If you can, cover the end of your flashlight with white or orange or yellow tissue paper so that when it is on it will be like a candle or torch bringing light to the darkness. When HWFAC (or others) speak the truth, hold up your light over your head, turn it on and point it to the ceiling as a sign of support. Never point it at others or use it for any other purpose. Imagine 200 flashlight candles shedding light on darkness. Will you do it?

Our presentation will discuss the following:

  1. The Sexual Orientation Strand is not an Equity Policy rather, it is a tool to be used to eliminate opposition to the Board's embracing of homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism and weaving it into all subjects starting in kindergarten.

  2. Phobia is an irrational fear such as a fear of closed areas however, as unnatural sexual conduct such as homosexual is high-risk then fear of this is not a phobia, it is rational. Therefore, there is no such thing as homophobia.

  3. Christian families are required to 'come out and be separate and touch no unclean thing'. (2nd Corinthians 6:17-18, 7:1)

  4. Homosexuality is the 'exchanging of the Truth of God for a lie and as a result of their indecent acts, homosexuals receive in themselves the due penalty for their perversions'. (Romans 1: 25-27)

  5. Heterosexism is a term that seeks to label and stigmatize those who rightly say that 'Marriage is the union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others'.

In closing, we plan to ask the Board the following;

As we in the Biblical Judeo-Christian community strive to raise our children to think on 'whatsoever things are honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report," we require classroom environments which will provide a safe physical, emotional and spiritual haven. Can we expect that to be provided by the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, or should we expect classrooms of multi-sexual indoctrination and apologetics?

We need to know.
