2004 HIGHLIGHTS

HWDSB Launches Equity Policy Identified by Trustee
as the ‘Unlearning Process'

As reported many times throughout 2004, in February the school board unveiled the Equity Policy. HWFAC was blessed with the opportunity to attend the at the Board the evening of the unveiling. The glossary of redefined terms made it clear to HWFAC that this ‘Unlearning Process' was designed with framework that would pave the way for the normalizing, promotion and equalization of homosexual, bisexual and transgendered conduct and lifestyles. HWDSB now maintains that HWFAC has made broad based assumptions as to how the strand of homophobia will be dealt with under this policy. We have ample documented evidence to back our position and challenge HWDSB to prove otherwise; we would love to be wrong on this one. Much of our energy in 2004 was directed toward this issue as the elementary classroom is the target of the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario to normalize these high-risk behaviours and lifestyles. For an update, please refer to the article in this newsletter.

7th Annual Scavenger Hunt for Birthright

HWFAC sponsored the 7th Annual Scavenger Hunt for Birthright at King's View Community Church. It was a tremendous turnout and atmosphere as 8 churches worked to bring in 511 pounds of supplies and $1,622 in donations in one morning for a total of 2,133 points. This total fell short of the previous 2800 point total at the 6th annual. Please, be involved this year and start now to collect. Check this newsletter for details.

Sodomy on Billboards

HWFAC was informed of a pornographic public billboard which was displayed in Niagara Region. The billboard featured 2 naked men, one lying on the back of the other, which vividly suggested the homosexual act of sodomy in progress. The caption read, "If he was positive, he would tell me", and "If he was negative, he would tell me". The ad was sponsored by AIDS Niagara (funded by Health Canada). HWFAC and Canadians for Positive Community Standarads responded immediately to AIDS Niagara, Hamilton AIDS Network and Hamilton City Hall and encouraged HWFAC supporters to call their alderman. The billboards did not appear in Hamilton.

Declaration of Spiritual Values Re-formatted
and Available on Our Website

The HWFAC Declaration of Spiritual Values went through further transformation this year and is now in a format that we feel is friendly yet firm in communicating who Judeo-Christian principled families are, why their principles are important to them and how teachers can be respectful of our families belief systems in the classroom. Used in a right manner, this document is a tremendous aid for parents when discussing these issues with the teacher and also serves as documented evidence of the discussion which can be placed in the child's school file.

HWFAC Web Site Activity - 2004

HWFAC's Web Site served as a powerful communicator in 2004. During the 3rd quarter, there were 4,925 page requests, the fourth quarter saw an increase to 9,375 and we are experiencing continued growth into 2005.

Through our website, we are hearing from individuals and organizations from across the country, as well as from as far away as Texas, who often seek our assistance in some regard. Of great benefit locally, our website increases our presence and enhances our accessibility to those with similar convictions and concerns. Standing on Biblical Judeo-Christian principles, we fulfill our mission by informing others regarding local concerns, and warriors who require prayer support.

Our website greatly magnifies our efforts to motivate others to write letters and to call officials. We also use the website to assist in the promotion of events and efforts of our partner organizations. Our website is regularly updated and is found at hamiltonfamilyaction.org
Please pray and continue to work with HWFAC as we continue to restore, preserve and defend traditional Biblical Judeo-Christian family principles & values.
